The first time I had an experience with chatroulette was in Germany last semester. It was the in first couple weeks of the semester and none of the international studentsreally new each other. In a flashback to freshman year, about 10 of us were stuffed in a small dorm watching Youtube, being socially awkward, ect. Someone knew of chatroulette and we tried it out. It was hilarious and fun to watch other people doing it. Girls never got nexted. I didn't personally participate in front of the web cam.
However...I did do it myself this weekend. It was really demoralizing. My self esteem got crushed for a couple hours until I went out later. I got skipped a lot. Sometimes even the penis people were able to skip me before I could skip them. Low blow. I did have a couple nice conversations but mainly just hated on the creator of chatroulette. I do definitely think it's a fad. A few months ago, the crowd was much more diverse, now the majority seem to be dudes with their pants off.
