Hey guys,
I'm probably going to be blowing up this blog quite a bit this weekend, sorry! Anyway, I wanted to write about my 3rd social network that my presentation will be on. I already posted about 43 Things and Bebo, and I've just started investigating Last.fm this week. Maybe I'm a little behind, because I'm sure some of you have used this before, but it was all new to me. Here it goes.
First, I think Last.fm is actually the most useful, functional site out of the three I've chosen for this project. It is so convenient because my library just keeps on playing random, new songs without me having to browse and choose what I want to hear. Because of this, I've already found new artists and new songs that I haven't heard of previously. Plus, it uploaded my iTunes into my account on Last.fm, so now I have those songs and playlists available right on my profile too. I like that I can choose to listen to an artist or genre of music, without having to specify too much.
I've made a few 'shoutouts' so far...one on Hootie and the Blowfish's page, another on the Michael Jackson fan page (yes, my musical taste is all over the place). But mostly my profile consists of country music. I think Last.fm is still currently used by people, which is more than I can say for Bebo, but I'm sure it lost many of its users to Pandora recently. Again, I've friended some random people that have the same tastes I do, but I have not dug much deeper yet.
