I totally just went crazy on 43 Things, and I've decided there's a little more to it than I originally thought, but still not a whole lot. I just was not understanding how to interact with people. Tonight I took a few steps to try to gain some attention from others and put my name out there. First, I added an entry to about half of the goals on my list. Some of the entries were simple but others I actually wrote a good paragraph about. It's weird and awkward to write about your personal goals and life to an online community in which I'm not even sure that anyone's going to notice what I'm writing.
I found this section where people can pose questions to other users about how to accomplish goals and I've found that this is where I should start. I've determined that there are a lot of active users out there because goals/entries/questions get posted every minute. I posted a question about finding a good organization to volunteer with, so we'll see if I get any recommendations! I also answered a guy's question that asked for tips to getting into an exercise routine. Because it's a hobby of mine, I figured I'd have something intelligent to say about it.
There is such a variety of different goals and topics on the site that it's difficult to find people or subjects I can relate to. But, I started looking at the lists of most recently added goals which serves a sort of search tool. I'll be using that in the future to try to find more indidividuals that have the same types of goals as I do. Also, I 'subscribed' to a few individuals who seem to be interested in the same things I am. I'm not sure what happens with that yet, but I'm assuming their entries will show up more often on my home page??? I'll have to let you know!
Sorry, this post kind of turned out to be a book!
