Online Game Community Migration

Although players have favorite video game genres and classic games that they they continue to play, there seems to be definite migration of players to new hit releases (aka the newest Call of Duty or Halo) in regards to the online community. People do not continue to play older games online. I find myself doing this as well despite whether I prefer the new game or not. For example, Call of Duty switches studios every other year and I always prefer the Infinity Ward productions. Yet, I went out and bought the new COD not produced by Infinity Ward. This might show that online play does not have staying power and needs to be constantly updated to keep users playing

  1. I agree. Whenever a new game comes out its always a hot thing. When the new COD came out I picked it up reluctantly, but knowing that my friends were going to get it I figured I had to. I will still play the modern warfare 2 one because it is better in my opinion, but will more often be playin the black ops edition.
