
Basically, I think that these two sites are not trying to actually compete directly. Instead, Hulu has the "corner on" premium content that is uploaded directly by large networks (full TV shows, movies) and YouTube thrives from it's user-uploaded content that ranges from funny cats to campaign speeches. Each site has a different purpose and users can easily make good use of both service.

ReplyDeleteThe largest criticism that I found about YouTube was that there was way too much copyright infringement. Too many users were uploading private content like clips from TV shows and movies. I think that Hulu is a great alternative, since the companies themselves are the ones uploading the content. I don't think that users are being pulled away from YouTube necessarily, but rather users are visiting BOTH sites for different purposes.
