Well I have to admit, I'm addicted to technology. I feel like I can't live without it. Other than my phone, Internet is the most important form of technology for me. I seriously go crazy without it. So tracking every computerized thing I did wasn't too hard, since I pretty much do the same things on the computer. Last night and this weekend I pretty much lived on my laptop. I had a huge paper due today, so I spent my weekend staring at the computer screen. But while I was working on my paper last night, I was multitasking as well. I am a huge multitasker. I write a sentence, check my facebook. check my email, and even another site such as TextFromLastNight before I get back to that word document. I had about 12 tabs open last night, about half of them being academic articles I was researching for my paper, but the other half was definitely leisure. Other than my email, Facebook, and TextsFromLastNight, I had three different programs opened for listening to music (I didn't want to get bored with the same stuff). I had Pandora opened, but when I would get sick of certain songs I would turn on my Grooveshark (which I had control over exactly what songs I wanted to listen to). Also, for some reason I had YouTube open, for listening to songs where I wanted to watch the music video or see other people's thoughts about the song. And twisted into all of this was looking at Facebook and chatting with people, etc. Clearly I got a lot done on my paper.
This is an average evening of computerization for me. Sometimes I watch episodes of The Office on Hulu.com, but mostly it is a combination of social networking, homework, and listening to music. The computer makes it very easy for me to get distracted, which it probably not a good thing for me academically, but it makes me happier when I'm attempting to do my homework.
