Final Post

I did want to just post one last time to say how much I really liked doing this project. At first, I was so confused. I had so many different directions and I felt that it was very hard to personally get into the sites. It was very easy to see how other people interacted, but to get myself in was another story. And since it was an ethnography, I had to figure it out.

Once I started to focus more on kids I got a hold of how I would be more involved. It started out with Captian Chemo, where kids got to learn in a game-like setting how things worked in the world of cancer. After that, I found the Cancer Kids website, which is what I ended up spending most of my time on. That led me to CaringBridge which was also something I focused on intently. I started participating in forums, and even started emailing a mother of someone who was going through a similar situation that I did. It really did impact me. I got so involved that I was really touched by a lot of the things I found. Just the fact that people were so willing to help each other out was amazing to me. Complete strangers seek out other people who they can help since most situations they go through are so rare. I am very glad I picked this topic!
