More on Scrapbooking...

Although I thought Scrapbooker Online was a great resource for scrapbookers with any kind of experience, I wanted to check out another source to see if I found any similarities, or hopefully find a new aspect that I would consider helpful in learning how to scrapbook. I came across a site called Memory Makers Magazine, "a community of ideas and inspiration".

I checked out the community portion of the site, where I found the scrapbook forum, blogs, and product demonstrations. The forum (posted below) was a little overwhelming. If you check out the number of threads and messages for each topic, you can see what I mean. However, there were definitely a lot of forums that started out as "I'm new" or "Getting Started", so this helped new-comers like me navigate pretty easily, and I was able to just take it one step at a time.

I also noticed how the site did indeed create a community feeling. In one portion of the page they welcomed their newest user, and also displayed current online registered users. This was helpful because users could not only search for posted information, but also chat with other users about their own ideas, or ask questions about tips, deals, products, and the like. I thought this was a great addition to their site.

I also liked the fact that this site allowed users to create challenges for other users. The challenges are actually a great option for new scrapbookers because if you are not a very creative person, the ideas from the challenges can get you started on projects you would never even consider!

  1. Hi Kristin! Are you finding these scrapbooking example designs and tips to be very elaborate and expensive or pretty plain and simple for a beginner scrapbooker? A lot of scrapbooking pages I've looked at in the past have been waaay over my head!
