Blog #3: i-Dose

I decided to investigate the i-dose youtube phenomena since I have already heard about the bombardment of penises on Chat Roulette and I did not have an interest in viewing random myspace profiles. I found a video relatively easily, but the first video I accidently searched e-dose which came up with less results and also more websites for online dosing information of drugs.

Once I found a prominent i-dosing video, I watched it carefully, keeping focus on the center of the screen. It was recommended to use headphones to get the full effect, but I was unfortunately at a library computer and did not have any headphones. The video left me unsatisfied and wondering why anyone would spend a good portion of their free time looking at these digital kaleidoscope images. One could describe them as trippy, but since I am a film/tv/radio major, I have seen much more facsinating images from avant garde film or even concert slideshows.

Overall, this was not that promising for the future of i-dosing videos, but I can forsee plenty of adoslescents visiting the top i-dosing videos in an attempt to freak out their senses. These are similar to videos of optical illusions that I visted as a teenager, usually playing with color combinations and strange visual trickery.
