ChatRoulette

So I have never been on Chatroulette before in my life. I've always heard about it, but I always steered clear of it because of all the stories. So, for this assignment, I decided to just take my chances and see what it was all about.

And, I regret it. Creepy is the only way I can describe it! I saw way more than I wanted to see and it was not okay. I made my friend participate with me because I needed a little moral support. I also think this site is just a little awkward. You sign on and boom, you're staring at a complete stranger who's just staring back at you. Then, in my case, I just clicked on to the next person. After doing this for awhile, I tried to gain the courage to stay on longer than a split second but I just couldn't. I would say about 75% of the people were creepy old men, and the other 25% were teenagers who thought this was the "coolest thing".

This brings me to my next point. No parents should be letting their child on this website. I see how the initial intent of this site could've been a good idea. The producers probably wanted people to meet people from all over the world and learn their culture. (I'm hoping this was the intent, because I don't even want to know if it isn't) So get a pen pal. Write a letter or something, because the whole video thing isn't really helping.

Basically, I went on this site to say I did, and now I won't ever do it again. It was a new experience and I can say for myself that I don't like it.
