Crazy time with MAPS!

Hey guys,

This is not part of any blog post or my practicum assignment, however, I found it completely relevant to our class. I stumbled upon it and thought I would share.

Pretty mind-blowing how they integrate user generated content with maps!

  1. Michael,

This video is remarkable!! Who knew you could incorporate Flickr photos with the maps to create such a visual experience for users. I thought it was pretty awesome how they can use backpack videos to enter into buildings, broadcast live, and even check out the sky using telescope technology...did I mention I liked the photo of the homeless guy? "My father was killed by ninjas, need money for karate lessons"...pretty creative hahaha

  2. Wow, this is fascinating on so many levels. Technology and geography have a unique bond and locational technologies are a sector that will continue to develop in the coming years (they already have through social media and mapping services). The live broadcast integration was amazing and something I would have never considered in a map.

This also really made me miss Seattle.

  4. This is amazing, I cant believe that this kind of new technology is already available and easy. This kind of reminds me of Ali's website with arcade fire and google maps, I imagine that the scene continues with the hooded man running on the streets in your neighborhood at kind of a birds i view, then zoom in to him and that scene where he's running to give the illusion that he is running in your neighborhood. GOOOD i like this.
