i-Dosing

So for this blog I decided to try out the i-Dosing youtube videos because I already know what ChatRoulette and MySpace are all about. Although I thought the videos I watched were interesting, I can't imagine myself ever watching them just for entertainment. Some of them actually made me a little dizzy and light-headed...And let's face it, I would much rather watch youtube for videos like "David after the Dentist" or the "Bed Intruder" one...if you haven't seen it, watch it, it's hilarious...Antoine has some classic quotes in that one...

Anyway, back to i-Dosing. I am very curious how people actually create the videos and decide what they want to happen, like what colors, shapes, and figures to use, or what songs they want to play in the background. Most of the songs I came across made me feel like I was at a rave or some club in Europe or something. One that I watched reminded me of a video I saw in my Social Work 453 class (Alcohol and Drug Abuse). Our professor showed us a few videos that were supposed to reveal what people experience when they "go on a trip" after taking hallucinogens. These videos also had continuous morphing of shapes, colors and images.

Overall, I do not think I will be i-Dosing any time soon again, but I'm glad I found out what i-Dosing is. One thing I would be interested in finding out is how long it takes to actually make an i-Dosing video.

  1. Glad you tried it out. It seems like a pretty strange idea/experience. Thanks for the link, too - next time, try linking it up so it's "clickable."
