jacobkahana.com

Meet Jake Kahana. He is an Art Director at Deutsch, an advertising firm in Los Angeles. He has worked on a number of accounts including Playstation, HTC, VW, DIRECTTV, CiCi’s Pizza, and is is an artist and digital designer in his free time. So…. A personal homepage is ideal for him to showcase his talent and experience.

Welcome to http://jacobkahana.com/.

When first landing on Jake’s homepage the first thing you notice is its simplicity. White background, only 2 colors and only 3 options: Work, Play, and Contact. He also adds a cute little sentence “take your pick” to draw in the viewer encouraging them to interact and dig deeper. In order to make his minimal, yet chic website have a little character, when you roll over his links the words BOOYAH!, HUZZAH!, and EPIC! appear. Although to some this may be looked at as unprofessional, an employer is looking for a creative and fun personality that thinks in their own unique way; and if you knew Jake, you would know this fits perfectly with his personality.

When you dive into the Work tab, you have the option of choosing from an array of links that each relate to an advertising job he has worked with. Within each tab are 5-10 examples of ads he helped create for the respective brand. The Play tab also has an assortment of links ranging from posters he has designed for his favorite artists to audio clips of music he has composed. This section is not only designed to highlight his multiple talents, but also helps the viewer get to know more about him on a personal level while still staying professional. Lastly, the Contact tab provides the viewer with his resume, Facebook, twitter, Linkedin, email, and phone number.

Jake’s has taught me how to blur the lines of personal and professional. I believe his site not only makes him look like a distinguished professional, but also a cool dude to chill with.
