myspace profiles

So, back in middle school myspace was a pretty cool thing. Once figuring out myspace was kind of creepy at the time for a 13 year old girl to have, I decided deleting my account would probably be a good idea. A few years later, facebook became the new obsession, not only for me but pretty much everyone. I haven't really given the site a second thought since then.

While poking around at several people's profiles, I found many components very similar to facebook. It's a social site, where you're able to search for artists, albums, and friends. Even the logo has changed and looks somewhat similar to the facebook logo. Ads flash on the top of the screen depending on what profile you're looking at.

Music has become a big part of myspace. Many music groups use this outlet to get their name out there. You're able to listen to their songs, look at their albums, and read biographies. There are also links connecting you to the artists' blogs, concert schedules, etc.

Friends include personal information such as age and location of where you live. You can learn about your friends' music, movies, television interests, as well as their education or career information. You can also look at pictures.

Myspace appears to be an interesting social networking site. In my opinion, it doesn't offer as much as facebook and I'm not sure if the creepiness level has decreased or not. The "game" aspect of myspace could have serious potential...something I might have to check out in the future.
