My (y?) space

My explorations of online social networking for this blog was Myspace.
Before Myspace, I was against all online socializing like live-journal.  However, my tolerance for Myspace existed because of its simplicity.  There are a lot of easy ways to post pictures, texts, and videos onto your wall, but I found it very difficult to find the kind of people that I'd like to friend.  Most, if not all, of the people that i browsed through were the same people that I always decline on Facebook: Some random girl with only a thong, or some random dude in his mid to late 40s who i have no relation to.  Another aspect that seemed to creep me out was that I could see whoever was online.  It didn't matter whether we were friends or not, if i could browse over them, I could see their online status, which gave me a weird pulsing feeling in my chest.  Slight anxiety about the knowledge I had just gained.  That seemed to me to be a tactic for complete strangers to meet online.  Hey everyone... " come check out who's hot and online... hopefully you guys can become friends and chat it up in no time..." just sounds uncomfortable.

can't wait for class!
