I have had some difficulty settling on just one topic for my practicum project, but I have finally narrowed it down to gardening and scrapbooking (at least I hope, it could still change). I work at a flower shop so I have experience with all different types of flowers, however, I have never tended to my own garden. As far as scrapbooking goes, my first job was at a scrapbooking store, and I have completed 2 huge scrapbooks so far from my dancing and poms years. I feel like both of these topics will have plenty of sites where active users constantly contribute their creative ideas to fellow bloggers.
One site that I found that was very helpful in linking me to people's blogs is called technorati.com. This site's directory basically groups blogs into categories like sports, technology, living, entertainment, etc. After choosing "living" I then found further sub-categories including health, pets, food, home and travel. After browsing for a while you could find many options for what type of blog you were looking for and the site then connected you to that person's blog. I decided to search "Ann's Creative Nook".
I really enjoyed browsing through Ann's blog. She offered her contact information so people could ask her specific questions about her scrapbooking and card making skills. But the best part about her blog was that she gave simple instructions on what materials were needed and the necessary steps necessary to complete her "challenge" projects. One thing that I really liked about this particular blog is that she provided links to other people's blogs that had contributed to her blog as well. This was very helpful. It was cool to look at the pictures of all of her projects too to get a sense of what her projects were all about. The picture above is one of her projects that is just in time for Halloween!
