Tweet!

For my practicum project I’m participating in Twitter. I’m going to do my best to make this interesting for you guys… I realize most of you probably have Twitters already & I don’t want to just be old news. Hopefully this will all get more interesting eventually! I’m still in the early stages so bear with me :).

Maybe you’ll be able to relate to my early struggles. Initially I was really intimidated. In fact, I still am! I’m still trying to figure out how it all works. For one, general navigation of the site is kind of difficult. Then again, with most unfamiliar technologies this tends to be the case… at least for me. I’m gradually figuring it out! I think I just need to explore more. Pardon me for comparing it to Facebook, but there’s a lot of less handholding. Since tweets are organized chronologically, you really have to take time and look for things in particular. They’re not necessarily catered toward the followers/friends you take the most interest in. I figured out how to ‘mention’ people mainly because the process parallels Facebook, but I still don’t really get the whole # thing. I’m working on it guys! You’re probably all shaking your head at me right now. Haha.

The whole following a celebrity part is actually really intriguing to me. It’s kind of cool to feel like you’re in the ‘in’ in what a celebrity is doing. Or to think that they too are sitting at a computer, or on their cell phone doing the same thing that you are. Right now I’m in the search for interesting celebrities. Hopefully I’ll have something more informative to blog about next time.
