Digg and twitter?

I just found a feature on Digg that allows you to follow other users; essentially, Digg incorporated twitter. Someone under the handle "2012ronpaul" made a pretty clever comment in some thread (although I can't remember where, when, or what he said), so I decided to follow him. Now when I log into Digg, all of the links that he has dugg appear in my news. This guy seems really frustrated about his opinions being represented (or under-represented, I guess) on the internet. I also started following Lifehacker and Tony Hawk. I hope I'll get some cool links from them but I can't remember the last time I heard of Tony Hawk doing something.

In Reddit news, I signed up for their secret santa about a month ago and I still have not heard back from the site. I'm a little irked but only because I have to send the gift out by Dec. 6th. I can't tell if the slow response is because of too many users' participation, or if they just aren't on the ball. Hopefully I'll get a confirmation soon. Until then, anyone know of a cool gift for under $15 that I can mail to someone I've never met? I was thinking bacon.

edit: redditgifts has 17,102 members participating in 90 countries!
