The Ask a Trainer session went well….if any of you readers were wondering.

It was a little frustrating because I think my trainer didn’t know DreamWeaver as well as the others, but he did a great job helping me set up my files and get everything organized.

Using DreamWeaver, I realize that parts of my “vision” have to be compromised. Although Dreamweaver is an easy to use program…there are certain limitations. For instance, the clean and somewhat edgy font I wanted to use is not listed under the fonts for Dreamweaver, therefore I will have to use a different.

As of now I am moving right along. I have my header (which is just my name) and my tabs all laid out. The next step is linking my tabs to other pages that I will create. I am lucky because my site changes very little allowing me to just duplicate the homepage and change content here and there.

My next step, however, is figuring out how to do roll-over text. My trainer did not know how to do it, so I plan to look online while also asking other tech savvy friends. I plan to add rollovers to my tabs, so when you rolover “ads”, “film”, “resume”, and “contact” with your mouse, the words change to “adskis”, “filmski”, “resumeski”, and “contactski”. On the side I plan to write “I add “skis” to the ends of words. It makes everyday conversation a little more interesting. This adds a bit of my personality to the site and also makes the simple site a little more entertaining and fun.

…..but I gotta figure out how to do it. I am determined.

Overall the site is looking great. I am just ready to get my images and links in so that people can explore the wonders of…me.

  1. Sounds like you're doing great! I am available for some DW help, if that would ever be useful (there are two or three different ways of doing rollover text, depending on your needs).

  3. Great! If you want to try before then, I think rollover images (rather than rollover text styles) will work best for you. Once you've made your images, this tutorial does a pretty good job walking you through the DW process! http://webdesign.about.com/od/dreamweaverhowtos/ss/dw-rollover-img.htm
