This basketball madness allows a lot more intelligent conversation to circulate blogs, forums, and discussion boards (well, at least more intelligent than pre-season conversations). People are steering away from conversations such as "who will be the Big Ten Player of the Year?" and "Top Freshman in the Big 12," etc. Now since fans and viewers have had the chance to get a GLIMPSE of the season, conversations start rolling around about specific players, specific games, and updated information about tournament standings and rankings.
As much as I love to give my two cents about who I think will be first team all conference, or who I believe will win coach of the year, now it is finally the time to talk about CURRENT standings, current match ups, and actual information. I've been following these sites for the past month +, but now the real fun comes along...let the real games begin.
I agree. I hate preseason talk. Even during the season talk can get long. Like after the first game of the season somebody claims they will be All-Conference and then fall flat the rest of them. Happens way to often. Anyway wintertime to me signals basketball season is underway. Its nice being able to watch both football and basketball games in the same weekend.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree!! best time of the year! Can't wait to see what actually happens to all this pre-season talk...who will actually pull it together and bring it home!
