So my Aris adventure is over. It took me around campus with someone else's iPhone and into a game editor to create my own Aris game. I enjoyed learning about this new technology. I had gotten so fed up with FourSquare, so it was nice to discover a GPS based system that actually does what it is supposed to do. Aris is not without its flaws though. I would be very curious to check back in a year to see what progress it has made, and knowing the guys behind Aris, I would bet that it would be quite the application in a year. Aris could easily become the next phenomenon if it gets enough exposure. Its possibilities are truly endless. You can design a game to fit whatever needs you have, whether it be educational or simply for some fun. I am rooting for the people behind Aris. They will hopefully be receiving some grants soon to continue improving what is already an amazing piece of technology. I really thought I was not going to enjoy working on this topic, but I came to that judgement far too soon. I can't wait to check out my hometown game in a few weeks.
Thanks,
Scott Zinovoy
I'm so impressed you made a game - let me know how it goes when you try it out!
