My gift came in the mail today - I got a 6-in-1 Utili-Key tool (2 screwdrivers, 2 knifes, bottle opener, and eyeglass screwdriver), a mobile phone stand for a bicycle, and a titanium spork! I was so excited, but I'm not sure how to contact my gifter - David Click of San Antonio, Texas. Right now I'm on the website looking at all the stuff people sent each other and everyone seems pretty happy with what they got. Most people sent a bunch of geeky stuff - nintendo belt buckles, sock monkeys, toilet paper origami books. I like that the people are like-minded enough on Reddit that they know geeky gifts will be appreciated; I know I loved getting a spork. Some of the cooler gifts that people got were $1500 in cash, an ipad, a kindle, an xbox, this awesome team fortress 2 fan art:
and my favorite of all, the complete Calvin and Hobbes. I was surprised that people would send such expensive gifts to each other. They stipulated a $15 limit on gifts (including shipping) but obviously that didn't stop people from going all out. It's cool that there is tangible evidence of a physical Reddit community outside of the website. I'm gonna look at more pictures of bacon-related gifts.
