Just a little note about my experience with epicurious.com: So, tonight we're having a surprise dinner for my roommate tonight and she's turning 21, so I decided to look up the wine pairing for lasagna on epicurious.com. First, some white wines are suggested, but I disagree. My family is Italian...and red wine and Italian food are meant to be together (except maybe if you're making alfredo.) Then, they suggested a light, fruity red wine...so I'm not sure how much I trust this tool...it's a partner site, so maybe they're just trying to sell their specific wines. Well, anyway, we didn't get the wine, but I found it convenient that you could see the wine recommended at the bottom of the recipe. However, I was frustrated that you couldn't just type in a food item and get an idea of what kind of wine to drink with it, because that's what I was expecting.
