Practicum #2 - Reddit

After checking out Digg, I moved over to Reddit.com. Reddit is another social bookmarking site and the form is similar to that of Digg.com's. On Digg, links from around the web are bookmarked by users and the number of users who "dugg" the link is reflected on Digg's homepage. Reddit, on the other hand, encourages users to post their own content as well as links they have found and other users give "upvotes" and "downvotes" depending on whether they enjoy the material.
In this case, the sum of upvotes and downvotes is 1187 upvotes. The primary difference I've found between Digg and Reddit's formats is that Reddit is more of a forum-like site where a single user can post content that can accelerate in popularity depending on how many people visit Reddit (and vote on it). Digg has a similar concept, although it requires users to each independently find the same link and digg it.

As on Digg, Reddit features different categories (a "folksonomy" if you will) of information, including "funny", "politics", and my personal favorite, "fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu". Aside from this, users can sort the links on the site by the number of upvotes, recency, personally saved links, and controversial ones (although i'm not sure how those are ranked).

Anyway, here's my favorite Reddit link of the day:
