When googling my name, it didn’t take me long to realize that I wouldn’t be finding anything of substance. Given my fairly generic name, this wasn’t particularly surprising. In fact, the first site Google produced was a White Pages link claiming “There are 1,173 people with the name Danielle Johnson in the United States.” Also high amongst the search engine results were links to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn sites belonging to women who share my name. Pretty standard stuff.
Other Danielle Johnsons included a young actress, a professional soccer player for Sky Blue FC and the owner of Infiniti Real Estate & Development. Let’s just say there’s a handful of Johnsons whose accomplishments make them more Google worthy than myself. Perhaps most interesting, when I continually searched variations of my name (Danielle Johnson, Danielle Ann Johnson, Dani Johnson, etc.) Google tries to redirect me to Daniel Tosh of Tosh.0. Funny guy, but not me.
