Scott Zinovoy--Practicum (The Game Is Over)

I have successfully completed construction on my ARIS game, which is now called "Open Briefcase". As I said last time, my game takes place in my hometown of Closter, NJ and involves a user picking up a key a traveling along an unknown route to reach a briefcase which he or she must open. I am extremely curious to test this game when I get home, so I will have to borrow someone's iPhone or iPod Touch immediately. The game is not so complex, but I must say that I am pretty proud of myself. I created what I hope will be a working functional game that people can play in my hometown. Perhaps after I play it I will make it more intense by adding video and/or audio files to give the gave more layers. I think the fact that I was able to construct such a game is a huge credit to the designers of ARIS. They have literally made game design possible for anyone with access to a computer and a little bit of time to learn the basics. There is no heavy code knowledge necessary or anything of that sort. I have included a picture of what my final editing screen looked like. Most of the dots are guides that would help the user get to the briefcase with clues such as "you have an uphill battle ahead" and "remember what you left home to do". Maybe I have a future in this---but I will doubt that.

  1. This game sounds cool. That's awesome you got to meet with the creators of the game and they're continuously updating so that more participants can create their own game. I too appreciate the fact that on most gaming sites there is no heaving coding in order to create your own game. Congrats!
